Trust
Every plate has to be worth your hard-earned money. We build value on trust — and we earn it by creating a little "wow" every single time you sit down.
Two Houston kitchens, one family recipe.
"The kind of dinner that turns into staying awhile."

Nice to meet you
It's the unhurried meal at the end of the day — the one where the plates get passed around, the stories run long, and nobody's watching the clock. We named two Houston kitchens after that feeling, and we've spent ten years (and survived a few near-misses) learning how to put it on every table.
The short version
We opened in 2015 as Aguirre's Tex-Mex — eight tables, a thousand square feet, a little three-foot bar we built ourselves, and a short menu we refused to rush.
Word got around fast: the sizzling fajitas, the queso blanco, the rice and beans people swore tasted homemade — because they are. We outgrew that first room, took a hurricane and a pandemic on the chin, and in 2024 opened a brand-new space on FM 529 with a new name and a whole new idea: Cenas Kitchen. Today there are two of them — one in Copperfield, one up Tomball Parkway. Same family. Same scratch recipes. A whole lot more to look at.
"We don't cut corners on the slow stuff. The tortillas, the salsas, the beans — that's the whole point."— Sam, co-owner
How we got here
One small room in Copperfield: eight tables, a thousand square feet, no patio, and a three-foot bar we built by hand. Scratch tortillas, a signature chili gravy, and a line out the door on weekends.
We turned a backyard gazebo into a little patio. It wasn't much, but it was ours, and it meant a few more seats for a growing crowd.
Harvey put Houston underwater — our neighbors, our guests, us. We dug out alongside the community and kept the kitchen open through it.
A second location up Tomball Parkway. Same recipes, same hospitality, a new neighborhood to feed.
When COVID shut the dining rooms, we sold fajitas for $10 a plate with a little local advertising, just to keep the lights on. The neighborhood showed up. We made it.
A bigger room to relocate the original. The build took 14 months and nearly closed us down for good — but we held on.
Years of guest feedback and a refusal to settle for "good enough" turned into a brand-new concept. We opened the Fajita Willie's space not just as a Tex-Mex spot, but as a dining room worth lingering in — and gave it a name that says exactly what we're about.
We brought the same Cenas Kitchen experience up to Tomball. Two kitchens, one welcome, one standard.
The new concept
When we built Cenas Kitchen, we didn't want to feed you and flip the table. We wanted to give you an evening — a room with enough going on that the conversation writes itself.
So we filled it. Over 300 unique vintage and designer light fixtures, no two the same. A 1,000-pound bull, sourced out of France and forged in Morocco. Hand-carved wooden skulls from Indonesia. Frida Kahlo puzzles — a thousand pieces each — framed behind plexiglass. Chicago-style brick, and a single epoxy table made by hand in Turkey. None of it matches, and that's the point: every booth has its own thing to point at.
When you're done, build your own ice cream cone on the way out. It's free, it's a little ridiculous, and it's still the first thing people tell their friends about.
Who's behind it
Cenas Kitchen is family-run, top to bottom — owned and operated by two brothers, Sam and Masood Sahragard.
Masood keeps the business honest: the books, the numbers, the parts of a restaurant nobody sees but everybody feels when they're done right. Sam runs the floors and the food — and, because he can't help himself, built the systems that keep both kitchens humming, from the way produce gets ordered to the way your plate gets from the line to your table.
Between the two of them, the goal hasn't really changed since 2015: cook it like you'd cook it for your own family, treat people like guests in your house, and always leave room at the table for one more.
What we stand for
The stuff that never shows up on the menu — but shows up in everything.
"Treat the customer's wallet the way you treat your own."
Every plate has to be worth your hard-earned money. We build value on trust — and we earn it by creating a little "wow" every single time you sit down.
"The standard I set is the one we live by."
Attitude, attendance, the way we show up — we hold our own team to it before we ask anything of a guest. Bring solutions, not noise; respect each other's time; look the part. A good room starts behind the line.
"Healthy partnerships bear the best fruit."
Honest, long-term relationships with top-quality vendors keep our ingredients safe, consistent, and affordable — and that goes straight to your table, every day.
"Support the people around us."
From giving back to local schools to growing our own staff into leaders, we believe reinvesting in people is the only way to build something that lasts.
"Never satisfied. Always better than yesterday."
"Good enough" was never the goal. We get a little better every single day — growth is a choice, not chance — and most of what you'll love about Cenas came from guests telling us how.
"Building value on trust is our golden rule."
Five values, one promise: you should leave happier — and fuller — than you came.
From the other side of the table
A few thousand reviews later, across Google, Yelp and the delivery apps, the same things keep coming up.
The make-your-own ice cream cone before you leave is the best part.
Better than Pappasito's — the spicy margaritas are the best around.
Finally — fajitas and refried beans with real flavor.
Loved the poblano veggie enchiladas. Great vegetarian options.
